Chapter 1
1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at
least two more.
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict.
1.Tao found a wolf and he fed it but he couldn't take him with him.
2.Tao liked to paint but he couldn't do it because he wasn't a chosen one.
3.Tao could of took the wolf and hide him somewhere.
4.What Tao could of done is show them how he draws and then they can dicide if he's a chosen one or not.
Chapter 2
What two important events happen in this chapter?
1.Tao found the wolf and saw that the wolf had piece of bone stuck in his tooth.So he tried to take it out.And he did
2.Tao had a dream that he found a cave and he saw stones filled with paints and he started painting when he woke up
he figured it was only a dream.
Chapter 3
1. What do Tao and Ram learn to do together?
2. What decision does Tao tell Volt?
3. Look at Tao's decisions and actions from Volt's perspective. Pretend you are Volt. Write a first person paragraph
explaining how you feel.
1.Tao and Ram hunt really well together.
2.Tao tells Volt that it will be better if they hunt with wolf dogs.
I feel really mad at Tao because he wants to hunt with wolf dogs.
And wolf dogs are demons to us.
So if you want to go hunt with wolf dogs go we don't need you here.

1.I thought that Graybeard sounded like Volt that tells him all the things that are wrong.
2.I agree with Graybeard because it is true that he can get killed.
3.It was true for those times but not now.
Chapter 8
An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.
The author examines this theme in a stone age setting. Imagine a similar situation today.
What situation did you imagine?
In the situation you imagined, should the person follow his or her dreams or should they follow society's rules? Give your opinion.
1.If both parents want to be truck drivers to earn some money there children will have to stay with someone for a long time.
And if both parents have an accident the kids will become orphans.
2.I think that only one parent should go and one stays.

1.I think that Graybeard change his mind because Tao did what he wanted to do.
2.That hes a good man and hes flexible.

I think that Graybeard is a good teacher because he taught him how to do a lot of things like how to mix colors.
I would not like to be taught by him because I wouldn't like to be torcherd like this.And my dream isn't to draw anyway.

2. Why is Tao afraid at the end of the chapter?
The ingredients were blood,fat,red earth,and honey.The blood was what surprised me.
Tao is afraid because he thinks that Graybeard is going to die.

1. Even if Ram had succeeded in hunting the deer, do you think it was a good idea of Tao's to "show off" his dog's ability to hunt? Explain.

I think that it was not a good idea because Volt was never going to change his mind.
I think that Tao was going to cross the river to get Ram.

Tao crosses the river because he hears a noise that is coming from the other side.
He dicids that Tao was going to be the next cave painter.

When we finished I was so shock.First because Tao fights a saxson.The because Volt is his father that was what really shock me.
And better yet Tao becomes the next cave painter.
